Judge JoAnne Murphy was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.  She attended Penn State University and earned her law degree from Penn State Dickinson School of Law. Judge Murphy previously served the Court as a guardian ad litem and a divorce hearing officer before being elected to the Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas in 2021.  She currently presides over Family Court and the Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas Adult Mental Health Court.
